Origin: This is a descendant of the Eskimo dog from Greenland. A sturdy working dog accustomed to hard work and renowned for his endurance and determination in difficult circumstances. Despite his stubbornness, he is obedient although needing a firm hand being a member of a pack.

This dog is fairly ill-defined as a breed, and the emphasis lies more with his qualities as a working dog.. The criteria for this dog is alertness, strength, and endurance and his capabilities to withstand the hard weather conditions in the Arctic. There appears to be no strict standards for this dog when it comes to looks or size.
